A challenging and muscular track that presents an important height difference to be tackled in a whole day. Leaving the Resort, the valley bottom leads to the hamlet of Costa Carnara in the municipality of Dolcedo where a path will allow us to tackle the first ascent to the chapel of Santa Brigida. The long dirt road used in the Second World War by the “partisans” takes us to an altitude of 1000 meters where we could admire the panorama of the Ligurian coast and behind it the spectacle of the maritime Alps. From here the technical descent begins for San Salvatore and Pietrabruna. The Ligurian sweet “stroscia” deserves a stop, using extra-virgin olive oil as the main ingredient. We will set off for Torre Papone to tackle a new climb up to the mountain 5 burche, the first mountain in our valley just 10 km from the sea. A photo of the ancient Saracen tower of Torrazza, the small church of the Knights of Malta and again a climb to Poggi from where we will then return to the resort.
